Honey: Honey can be a controversial topic as far as animal rights are concerned because it comes from bee's. In my personal opinion, if you find brands that are all natural and don't mass produce, then using honey from bee's is okay. You will have to make your own decision about the honey based on research. The only thing the honey does for hair highlighting purposes is protect the hair from being too damaged by the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. You may choose to leave the honey out. You will still get results.
Here is the honey I used : http://www.amazon.com/Ambrosia-Colorados-Western-16-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B001EO616S
There is also honey that is "Bee-Free". Here is a link to one of them.

Hydrogen Peroxide: Sounds scary, but it's not!! It's just H2O2. It's slightly more viscous then water.

Baking soda: DO NOT USE ARM AND HAMMER! They are now testing on animals. Use Bob's Red Mill
