FUN FACTS:
1.You can wash dreadlocks as often and every other day. You can use regular shampoo, just be sure to get ALL the soap out, or you could get dreadrot.
2. You DO NOT have to cut off your hair to get rid of dreadlocks!! If they are younger than one year and six months, if you add plenty of conditioner to DRY dreadlocks, you can comb them out! It is time consuming, though, and you will need to wash, and deep condition afterwards.
3. You don't need wax. That's just adding something completely unnecessary to your hair, and it promoted dreadrot, which will make them mildewy!

Remember, if you decide to incorporate a few or an entire head of dreadlocks, it's a journey. They take TIME. Be patient, and love your dreads, they will treat you well.
