"Prince Zuko's Scar" is a fast forward film depicting my first trial at trying to figure out how to apply "special effects" makeup with "just makeup." (Meaning, nothing from a Halloween store or special effects equipment inventory. Due to lack of time, I was not able to make an actual tutorial for this look in time for the opening day of AVATAR: The Last Airbender (2010) so I made this "demo video" instead for entertainment come the opening day of the movie many are eager to see!

I am planning to do a tutorial for this in the future with better techniques (the paper was kind of not working as I thought it would in this video; but this was only the first try and I just so happened to decide to film it). If you really want to see me do a tutorial of this, please let me know! It will encourage me to make it for sure, because I might just leave it at this.
Prince Zuko is a character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, a show that once aired on Nickelodeon. He is a struggling, angry, confused but passionate character. He is a firebender and the son of the Fire Lord; therefore crown prince to the throne. The scar was given to him by fire by his father, Firelord Ozai in a brutal and unfair match of Agni Kai after Zuko spoke out against the war in a meeting when he was only about 16 years old. The scar healed, but never completely. It's a constant reminder to him of many things while growing up in exile. His scar comes off to strangers as intimidating, but it also makes some pity him and wonder what his past was really like an what kind of family he came from.
But what really makes this character what he is ... is his voice! Dante Basco, the voice actor for Prince Zuko is one of my most favorite people. He is super kind, a great poet, supportive, honest and down to earth. And you gotta love his voice and the fact that he was RU-FI-O!
*Materials Used will be given in a future possible tutorial. Comment if you would like a tutorial!*
This concludes the first section of my AVATAR Series!
Episode 1: Watertribe
Episode 2: Kyoshi Warrior
Episode 3: Prince Zuko's Scar
I am planning on more AVATAR themed videos in the future. Possibly Azula, Ty Lee, Painted Lady and Avatar State themed. They might not be for awhile, but, stay tuned for more!

Dante Basco, the voice actor of the original Prince Zuko actually saw a picture comparison of this look! (I sent it to him on Twitter awhile back and he responded! You don't know just how giddy I became!)

Wondering where I got the fire breathing footage? Watch this! I can't imagine learning how to do this. Thank You Koen Taken (creator of fire breathing video), Robin (the talented guy in the video) and his dad for posting this on YouTube.
