Hey Guys and Dolls!
As the title suggests I'm looking to start having guest bloggers here on VoT as a way to get exposure for some up-and-comers and also to get a little variety going on. YouTube/ the Blogosphere is a beauty community; we should all have a voice and I know there is so much under-appreciated talent out there! I'm subscribed to/read so many underrated Vloggers/Gurus/Goobers/Bloggers on YouTube and because the community is so saturated now I know it can be hard to get noticed these days. Also I want to mention that you don't HAVE to have a blog or a YouTube channel to be featured on my blog- in fact I'd LOVE to feature posts from just every day readers/viewers. There is some criteria that I will require in order to have your post used:
*The Main thing I'm looking for are BLOG POSTS- sorry to bold-mouth, but I'm looking for posts to put on my blog. I'm not looking for stand-alone videos. Also, having a video is not a requirement. If you choose to include a video it still must be accompanied by at least 2 photos and a list of products, and a brief summany of you inspiration.
*The types of posts I'm looking for are Face of the Day, Tutorials, Reviews, Fashion, Nails, Hair..etc. I'm not looking for Hauls, Outfit of the Day, or personal vlogs at this time.
*When doing a tutorial or EOTD a brief explanation of your inspiration is always fun to read!
*I want clear pictures of your work- it doesn't have to be HD perfection, but I don't want anything blurry/poor lighting etc... The whole point is to see your makeup/hair/nails- whatever it is you are showcasing. When doing makeup looks it would be helpful to have at least two pictures, one up close and one full-face. Also, editing out a blemish or a stray brow hair is fine, but please don't photoshop your pictures to death- I want to see your makeup skills and who you really are!
* Likewise if you create a video to go along with your blogpost, I want good-quality video; it doesn't have to be super-professional looking, but if it's blurry/poor lighting/ the audio is off etc it probably won't be used.
*If you're doing a tutorial please include a list of what you used to create the eyeshadow look/nails/hair etc. I understand if somehting is discontinued, but it is helpful to mention what was actually used and any substitutes if the item is no longer available.
* In keeping with my philosophy I would prefer to only feature products that are not animal-tested.
*I ask that if something was sent to you for the purpose of review you add a disclaimer. Also for reviews try to include pictures of what it is you're reviewing, and swatches if applicable.
*And the last thing that I ask is that you send your entire post to my email in a tidy package (you must include a finished blogpost, pictures attached in the email, links to videos/your blog provided if applicable etc)- if I have to hunt things down they won't be used. Send submissions to my email requests4cora@yahoo.com
* Wait- One more thing- HAVE FUN! I'm looking for people who love makeup/hair/nails/fashion and just want to share their point of view/skills. That doesn't mean that you have to act bubbly if you're not bubbly or calm if you're not calm, I just mean don't fuss over being perfect- just be yourself!
I'm excited about this, are you? I look forward to seeing your posts!
