My hair is a blood red colour as well (Yay for red hair!) and I also use a semi-permanent. I use Special Effects instead of Manic Panic though, and even when I don't have bleach or other dyes in my hair, the SE holds on extremely well. I re-colour about every 6-8 weeks. The protein colour filler is definitely something I am going to check out! Seems like an amazing product.
