Straightening my hair using a steam straightener/flatiron. Since my new hair cut and hair color, I’ve been trying new hair products like IGK, Mizani, Matrix and this new steaming hair straightener from Sally’s Beauty Supply. I’ve cut my full routine (Shampoo, conditioner, blow dry & smooth/straightening) down to 45 minutes. Blow-dry alone used to take me a minimum of 2 hours. I've been using the Steam straightener for a few weeks and I've found that I can get my hair smooth and flat super fast and it won't damage my hair as much as a flat iron. I do recommend using a heat protectant to minimize damage.

I was talking to my hairstylist about steaming straighteners after seeing an ad online. She highly recommended it for anyone who has a hair type that needs heat. I've been searching for a good one and saw this one at sally's beauty supply. Decided to buy it and give it a try.
Here’s a ‘Watch me do my hair’ routine! Watch out for a review on this steam straightener very soon! Let me know if you’d like to see how I style it using a Curling Iron and finishing products.
I didn't find it necessary to show the whole blow-dry routine. It's the same process for the whole head along with the straightening process. I wanted you to get the gist of it so you can see my overview. If you'd like to see a full start-to-finish, let me know.
TIPS:
I do recommend blow-drying the hair first before using the steam hair tool. I've tried it both ways and found that it was faster for this specific hair tool. It does not say it's meant to be used for wet hair. I've done damp. It works better with dry. (Use the cool setting on the blow dryer the whole time.)
The tool does a heat control up to 450 degrees. (I have to use 450 for my hair. Adjust it according to your hair type)
I recommend using a heat protectant. This does have ceramic plates. Which, Isn't super consistent. So It can get hotter and hotter. Tourmaline or titanium is the best in my opinion. I also verified this with my hairstylist and she agreed. But, I couldn't find a steaming hair product under $100 without ceramic. Use a heat protectant.
Use smaller sections nad go really slow to only go one-pass. I have tried big sections and it does a really good job at straightening. (Especially when I'm in a rush) I recommend taking your time and doing smaller sections if you can though.
This does require filtered water and it does have bristles which I loved because I can get as close to the root as possible. It has a 30ML bottle to dispense water in. You do fill-up the water reservoir, but you don't have to. This specific tool works with and without water. I prefer the water (steam)
The bristles allow me to get very close to the root of my hair. I was concerned I'd burn myself, however, the steam vents should be facing down. I did not burn myself at all when I made sure I followed all the directions. Please read them before using the tool.
I never thought steam would straighten my hair. I originally thought the opposite. But after researching and talking to my stylist, I love it and recommend it.
