So let me tell you a bit about today's video, which I am sure you will absolutely adore if you are one of those girls who loves doing gradients using sponge, and just hate to clean up the mess - Because with this video, that problem will be solved for once and for all!
If you are a nail addict like myself, you might have heard of the super expensive OPI peel off cuticle polish, that thought, infinitely useful, just costs so much, that we sometimes would much rather go the hard way. Well, no more, since after today, you can learn how to make peel off cuticle guard yourself!
With this DIY peel off cuticle protector, you can now clean your polish mess super fast, and without any irrational pocket pinch too - we will just use a cheap craft glue that can be found at all stores, for barely $2-$3, and some tap water! So instead of $25 on a polish, that does the exact same thing, we will have 3-4 bottles just like that for barely $2-$3, in a matter of minutes!
Q: Can I store it in old polish bottles?
= Yes you can, but use it up within a few days. this thing dries up so fast! Or keep adding a drop of water not and then, but I see it is as a whole lot of trouble, and it has a huge potential for a lot of wastage!
One of the things that you must learn about this how to make DIY cuticle guard is that it can be stored easily in an old polish bottle. But not only is it better to use a thinner brush to apply it on your cuticles, but also, the thing will dry up fast in a bottle.
Q: It is not peeling off smoothly.
= Your consistency is not right.
If the glue is still too thick, you will really struggle to remove the thing. If it is too thin, then you will need to rub it off in an annoying way.
The best peel off cuticle protector is NOT watery - and NOT like gel thick! It should be just like a runny glue. You may need 2 or 3 tries to get it right.
Q: How long will it take to dry?
= About 5-8 minutes.
I really wish I could say that it dries fast, but it takes longer than your regular average nail polish. I still think though that the DIY peel of cuticle guard is worth it eventually, simply because it takes much longer to remove this with acetone anyway. Plus way cheaper!
Q: How did you get this idea?
= I saw it on another channel, and wanted to try it out myself.

When it worked, I decided to show it to my viewers in a video, since it was such an exciting concept, and I will be using this idea a LOT from now on. I very well knew you girls would start wondering!
Q: Where did you get that awesome brush/sponge etc etc?
= All my nail products are usually from - http://www.bornprettystore.com/?ref=1192
They have practically all kinds of basic nail related tools you can imagine!
Q: Can I use this as a base coat and then peel off the whole thing later?
= Absolutely! Keep in mind though, that polish/art will not last too long. And you might lose a whole design just like that if you wash or rub your hands. So use it only if you are doing your nails for a few hours and can be careful.
Tip: If the polish comes off one nail, quickly remove it from the other nails too! It is just peel off, and will be gone in seconds!
Q: So what are the pros and cons?
= Well here are they:
Pros:
1. Super easy DIY
2. Done using simple things that are easy to find.
3. Very effective.
4. Super cheap.
5. Saves time, money, and annoyance!
6. Healthier for your cuticles than acetone.
Cons:
1. Too long to dry
2. Dries up when stores long in a bottle
3. You will take a few tries to get the right consistency.
The beauty gurus just came up with this alternative very qucikly. since the formula was very easy to read.Though this was really a concept of the OPI peel off cuticle polish for DIY peel off cuticle guard. And seriously what is with that exorbitant price of their peel off cuticle protector anyway?
Thanks a lot for watching this video!
