So I'm back with another attempt at using the Cantu Shea Butter Natural Hair products. This time I did a flexi rod set on my hair. The directions said to apply the custard to wet hair and suggested pairing it with the Coconut Curling Cream. That's exactly what I did.
I made sure to apply more water to a small section of hair. Then, I added some of the custard and worked it in. I then applied the coconut curling cream on top of the custard making sure to work this in too. After the products had been applied, I rolled the hair on gray flexi rods.
I sat under the dryer for about an hour or so. I let my hair air dry the rest of the time overnight.
In the morning, when I removed the rollers, I noticed that I did have some build up and some more flaking. I'm starting to think this is a result of maybe using heat (from the dryer).
I didn't have as much build up so, I'm going to give this custard one more try. I'm going to experiment with not using any type of heat to dry my hair and instead, let it soley air dry. Here's hoping the third time's the charm.
