Well, here is a first for me: going out in broad daylight! That happened yesterday during Carnival, a yearly festival observed in many parts of my country, where you can pretty much dress up as anything you want.
I drove 300 km to meet a good friend of mine, and did a few stops on the service areas (more on that later), and even interacted with a few people. Did they stare at me? Actually, no. In a sense, I felt invisible (and perhaps even a bit disappointed). Most people didn't notice at all, or pretended not to notice (and were rather successful at doing that). Carnival is the time of the year where you really don't care what people are wearing.
Even though it's February and spring is still several weeks away, the afternoon was relatively balmy (although windy), which allowed me to show off my curves without being encumbered by a winter overcoat. Of course, when sitting down and driving, you get to see little of that :)
Note: if you're curious, I was driving merely at 120 km/h, which is the legal limit on Portugal's motorways.
