In this, step-by-step, hair tutorial video for beginners, I'm going to show you how to create a half French fishtail braided ponytail, for short, medium, or long hair lengths. This hair braiding is also known as a lace braid. Fishtail braid hairstyles can be done on straight, wavy, or curly hair.

Low ponytail updos will look great on any face shapes, whether you have a long, oval, square, or a round face.

Beautiful, elegant, voluminous braids hairstyles can be worn as an everyday, casual hair style, for children, teenagers for school, or for a formal occasion like a wedding, prom, homecoming, or for a fancy bridal party. Braided looks makes a trendy, teenage hairstyles and French fishtail braids are actually easier than French braids.




Basic written steps | how to create a lace French fishtail braid ponytail hair style.

Part your hair to the side, my part was on the right.
Take a small section of hair, about 3~4" wide, and split it in 2 and cross the left strand over the right strand.
Start taking hair from the scalp on the right side, and incorporate it to the left strand to create a French fishtail.
Take a small strand of hair on the left strand, and incorporate it to the right strand as if you're doing a regular Fishtail braid.
Continue French braiding down until you reach the ears.
Once you reach the ears, finish off that section with a regular fishtail braid and tie it with an elastic.
Clip away the braid so you can gather the hair left out to make a low ponytail.
After making a ponytail, wrap the braid around the ponytail.
