1) I had dead ends.
2) The back section was a lot longer than the other areas and looked stringy.
3) I've always wanted a heart shaped fro.
4) With the new year, I want to put my focus back on health (and not on length) so it was the perfect time to start out fresh.

The reason I use so many layers is because my hair is so coarse & thick that it needs more moisture and to be able to have hold that lasts longer than a day. If your hair is thin or strands are fine, this may be too heavy for you.
