When I do Makeup FX I like to see REAL photos to really see the color, texture and how it looks in reality, because sometimes artists forget about reality and do gore or un-real when doing FX makeup. So I decided to look thru Forensic sites and look at the photos of real ligature mark wounds.
I found exactly what I needed, real photos and I mean REAL photos. So I got what I was looking for and then I started to feel sick to my stomach, not because I was seeing dead people (I saw, touched and studied dead corpses at the university) but because I was seeing the true self of human beings, and let me tell you, human beings are mean, cruel, violent and sadists. What I saw was heartbreaking, to see what some people are capable of. I was shocked!! Informed, but truly disgusted. I stopped looking when I saw photos of children and babies, how can someone hurt and innocent child, a baby who still doesn't know what life is because he's too small to acknowledge it. What's wrong with this world!?!?
I made this tutorial as real as possible so you don't have to look for these images, they still haunt me. Some of you may ask, "then why do you do it?" Well, I want to practice and build my FX portfolio so I can apply to do makeup in short films or low budget movies and for those FX lovers out there so they can have a tutorial to watch, I've learned so much here on YT it inspired me to give back everything I've learned thru the years.
