Buns don't have to be boring. You can really spice up this protective style by adding in some braid hair.
I started with hair that had been stretched (using roller setting). I made two sections, a top and bottom half. Each half was then formed into a bun. You can use whatever styling product you like. I used castor oil and some gel. I tied a scarf around my hair to help set everything and lay my edges down.
I wanted a somewhat full set of twists so I used one pack of braid hair per bun. Dividing the hair in half, I used a hair tie to make a loop for attaching to the bun.
I attached one "looped" pack of hair to each bun. I then twisted each half of my "faux" buns, leaving me with 4, large twists.
Next, I just took my time positioning/wrapping the twists around my hair. I used hair pins to help hold the twists in place.
There is no right or wrong way to do this. You can do this on dry or damp hair. Use has many (or few) packs of braid hair. Play with how you want the twists to lay.
This protective style sure did come in handy. It made getting ready for work in the morning a breeze. Not to mention, I got a ton of compliments!
Thanks for watching!
