Like everyone else, I've been very curious about the Em Cosmetics line released by Michelle Phan earlier this year. However, unlike most YT subbies, I was lucky enough to get to preview this line a few months ago at the beauty event I mentioned in my Summer Haul earlier this year. So I knew going into this purchase that the shadows might disappoint, because I had noticed the quality was hit and miss.
Here are my overall thoughts on the palette!
I hope you find this helpful!

+ Eyeshadows +
Pros: Good pigmentation in some, blend easily, last well enough with a primer.
Cons: The colors were not quite what I expected from the images online, some were quite chalky, and beware the constant fallout!
Final: I really only love 2 out of 6 colors, and I still don't see how that shade is labeled as a "Gold"
Rating: 6/10
+ Lip colors +
Pros: The pigmentation is good, and they're not too sticky.
Cons: Small pans make it easy to get palette messy, fallout from eyeshadows falls in them a lot.
Rating: 8/10
+ Blush +
Pros: Satin shade, very pigmented, gives nice glow when blended on cheeks, lasts well.
Cons: Might not work for everyone due to satin finish, but this isn't a problem for me.
Final: One of the 3 items I really do like from this palette.
Rating: 9/10
+ Packaging +
Pros: Sturdy, nice large mirror, colors can be taken out and changed with other Em colors, great size for travel.
Cons: No space for the brush that comes with it, the pot sizes are limited to other Em cosmetics products only, the magnets work fine for now but they were having trouble finding strong ones so they might fall out later.
Rating: 7/10
+ Final Verdict +
This palette has some good points, but overall I don't think that the eyeshadows' many issues make it worth the $29. I hope that they will be able to fix the issues with the formulas that they've been having, because plenty of customers have now said they are having trouble with them, so hopefully they'll listen to the reviews and take notes. I am sure that as a new company they are taking customers' opinions very seriously. Michelle was very appreciative of feedback at the meet & greet I went to so I know she'll work hard to please the customers. Just because this palette wasn't what I expected doesn't mean I dislike the overall brand. The blush is lovely and the lip colors were quite nice as well, I just felt like I didn't get my money's worth.
Not mentioned in this video is the lipstick in the thumbnail image, but if you check out my next video you'll hear my thoughts on that. The color just didn't go with the look shown here.
