Gratitude -
grat•i•tude (ˈgræt ɪˌtud, -ˌtyud) n.
the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.
The Benefits of Gratitude
Gratitude is what gets poured into the glass to make it half full. Studies show that gratitude not only can be deliberately cultivated but can increase levels of well-being and happiness among those who do cultivate it. In addition, grateful thinking—and especially expression of it to others—is associated with increased levels of energy, optimism, and happiness.
1) What is different today than it was a year ago that I'm thankful for?
2) If you stop and think about it... What is one thing you typically can't stand? Now find some way to be thankful for it...Ready, set, go!
3) What material possession are you most thankful for and why?
4) Think of 4 people who have made a huge impact on your life this past year. Briefly thank them personally.
A little something to ponder on:
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
