I'm sorry guys, but this had to be said! I don't see how dyeing your hair a different colour, wearing a certain item of clothing, going out, going on holiday even, dressing differently or even wearing a different colour contact lens makes you "ashamed" of your own background. Or even equates to hating your background.

I just find it so silly how some people can nitpick on others and claim that they hate who they are if they do something that isn't the norm.
How is there going to be any sort of change in this world if we have to follow what society says, and only do what is "expected" of us.
I know this must happen within so many different cultures, but I wanted to address this topic in a way that relates to me.
There are so many people who say that Asians with dark hair, dye it lighter so they can look a different race… But that really isn't the case! People can experiment however they want to, however they please - and others shouldn't interfere with their choices as it has nothing to do with them.
Just because you've dyed your hair lighter, wear contact lenses of a different colour, wear a certain piece of clothing, IT DOESN'T mean you hate your ethnicity, race, background, culture etc. (Some cases it might be) But for most people, they like to experiment with their hair and how they look, for fun :)
A little sick of people saying that those who do 'crazy' things are denying their culture/background.
