Eva and I take you guys on a thrift shopping trip and let you know the best tips and tricks to finding great stuff at our local thrift store, Value Village.

Tip 1:
Take your time. If you're shopping at a thrift store on a time limit, you're more than likely going to miss something hidden among the clothing racks. And if you're taking your time, you're more likely to pay attention to stuff like brand names, holes, or open seams.

Tip 2:
Don't be afraid to go out of your box. Even though you might be a small petite woman, you might find hidden stuff in extra larges too. So, don't be afraid to go out of your box and venture around the store. Larger sizes are great for layering especially in the fall.

Tip 3:
Make sure that you check out what the return and exchange policies are, because some of them won't let you refund and some of them will so make sure you do check. And, before you actually buy, make sure you try it on because you don't know how it's going to fit on you because some clothes look nice on the rack but not on ourselves. Also, if you're a germaphobe, it's also a good idea to put on clothes that are skin tight so you can just put it on top. That way you don't have to actually touch it, in perspective.

Tip 4:
If you're an avid shopper, it's good to know when the store is putting out new stock. Value Village/ Savers puts out new stock every Monday to Friday so every weekday there will be new stuff for you to scavenge through.

Tip 5:
Always bring a friend, because it's always more fun, to have people with you. They can look for things, while you look for things, and you can find stuff for each other. Make sure you know each other styles!

The Value Village we visited supports the Canadian Diabetes Association so we felt twice as good shopping there!
