Comparing Canon kit lens to the EF 40mm stm lens

So yes I am a huge tech nerd lol and I recently ordered the Canon 40 mm STM lens from ebay because of all the good things I heard about it. I have been wanting to get this lens for a while but just havent gotten around to it. Finally I took the plunge and I am totally happy that I did. The lens seems much more durable then the kit lens which is just so plastic and not very long lasting at all from what I am now finding out. Well here goes my straight out the box demo for you.
