Hello Everyone!
Today's video kick's off my DIY series which I will try to do every month. This DIY teaches you how to make your very own cleansing balm made of all natural ingredients. There are many cleansing balms out on the market now, but many of these can be over $30. This simple DIY costs a fraction of that, and you can mix and combine ingredients to match your personal needs, making as many batches as you'd like for yourself or as gifts for friends.
Competing Products:
EVE LOM Cleansing Balm $50 | MAC Cleanse-Off Oil $30 | Clinique Take the Day Off $28
OMOROVICZA Thermal Cleansing Balm $105.00

Oil cleansing is a great way to remove makeup without the use of harsh cleansers that can actually strip the moisture from your skin. Using oil as an alternative will add moisture back into your skin, and depending on your blend of oils, there can be other benefits as well.

What you will need:
A container to store your home made cleansing balm ( I used an empty Blender Cleanser bar)
Rubbing alcohol to sterilize all containers
A mixing bowl to combine ingredients
A spon and fork to scoop and mix products
Grapeseed Oil http://tinyurl.com/k9zh29y
Coconut Oil http://tinyurl.com/lue5puf
Castor Oil (Hexane free) http://tinyurl.com/lnvotrh
After sterilizing mix all the ingredients in you mixing bowl until you have a whipped consistency, a fork is best to do this with. Then scoop into your storage container and use a small amount to cleanse away any makeup or dirt.
*Grapeseed Oil* is a great moisturizer and contains many antioxidants which can help with anti aging, contains Vitamin E which can help fade acne scars and fine lines.
*Coconut Oil* is a fabulous emulsifier which easily breaks down pigments, it also is very hydrating and acts as the base of our balm because it thickens when exposed to cooler temperatures. Make sure to buy virgin 100% coconut oil to receive the maximum amount of natural nutrients and vitamins found in Coconut oil.
*Castor Oil* is best for cleansing as it penetrates deep into the skin to lift impurities. It is also a very drying oil so you do not want to use it alone.
These combination of these three oils will allow the mixture to stay in a whipped balm form as opposed to hardening like coconut oil does when it cools down. This balm can be stored for a few months and can be used daily.
Some essential oils you can add as well are:
Frankensense - anti-aging
Lavender - calming and revitalizing
Rose absolute - brightening and softening
Tea Tree Oil - treats acne and clears away bacteria
These essential oils are very potent and only a few drops should be used. Consult a dermatologist or do research online before using these to find out what best suits you.
