I absolutely think that this is SUCH an awesome DIY. It's SUPER great for your skin! Let me explain the benefits of each ingredient used in this video!
Oatmeal - The oatmeal is soothing. Depending on how abrasive you want the scrub, you can use a blender, but I used a knife to cut the pieces to my desired size. I liked the oatmeal bits to be a bit bigger, but if you have a blender and you want it a little more fine, then you can do it that way!
Baking Soda - This is used to exfoliate the skin!
Coconut Oil - VERY moisturizing
And the SUGAR of course is sweet. ;)
After the whole process is done and poured into the jar, you'll notice that there's a bit of extra coconut oil at the top, I love it. You can drain it, but I kept mine in there because when your refridgerate the jar, the coconut oil will harden. This oil is so amazing because once you take it out of the fridge, and use it immediately, the oil reacts to your body temperature and softens almost instantly. You will also feel the fine bits of brown sugar that also play a part in gentle exfoliating. I noticed a difference in my skin after use and washed away. I love this! I forgot to add the shelf life, I would recommend atleast 1-2 weeks! It's super great! And I hope you don't mind it messy, if the oatmeal is grinded to fine bits, it shouldn't be a problem. :) I absolutely love this recipe as it is SUPER amazing for your skin! I hope you've been enjoying my DIY's as much as I have had fun making them!
