hullo! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ i've gotten a ton of requests to do an asmr video, so i've decided to do an asmr makeup tutorial for this channel. must admit this was a very difficult video to create. all those happy little accidents eh. it's the daily makeup look i've been wearing now that winter has arrived here.

obviously if you don't like asmr uhhhh don't watch unless you like being tortured like that. i'm serious. but for those who have been requesting this, i hope you found it calming or relaxing. i'm a bit of a noob at this but hopefully it was ok (still struggling with audio stuff). the voiceover was recorded with a blue yeti and the other sounds were recorded with a tascam dr-05.

this video features my nerdy soft spoken voice of course, tapping and sweeping sounds. aka the worst attempt at foley sounds ever.

･ w h a t i s a s m r ? ･

to keep it succinct, it's a variety of visual and audio "triggers" done to cause a feeling of relaxation, induce sleep or even alleviate stress. it's also been found to help people deal with mental illness or grief, although it's not intended as a legitimate treatment. personally, it's helped me manage my insomnia, which i've dealt with for the past 10 years - now i can sleep normally and restfully :)

asmr is a thing where if you like it, you'll really like it, but if you hate it, you'll really hate it.

for everyday makeup i like to paint myself as whatever i like ~*aesthetically*~ which for me once again are BJDs or ball jointed dolls. but i try to make it look more natural. i don't really care much about looking naturally pretty or like i'm not wearing makeup at all, to me that just bores me. what's the point of wearing makeup if you don't want it to be noticeable? lol

anyways, i do focus on makeup products that aren't matte or overly drying on the skin since my skin is naturally very dry.

for the darkness underneath my eyes i used YSL Beauty's Touche Eclat Neutralizer in Bisque, which is basically a peach color corrector. For light-medium skin tones, this helps correct any dark spots or undereye circles. it's really lovely - but the correction effect on my eyes wasn't very noticeable.

i also used 3 lipsticks from lancome's l'absolu rouge hydrating lipstick line - berry noir (matte), secrete (cream), and hypnotique (sheer). i have to say i really love these lipsticks - just as hydrating as promised - and they have amazing lasting power as well, which i usually don't get from moisturizing lipsticks. pretty pretty pretty good!

now - i've been gone for a while from this channel, but that's because i've been sick and also dealing with some personal life stuff. i actually couldn't wear any shironuri makeup because my eyes were so painfully raw and dry. but now i'm feeling better, so expect me to return to my normal schedule soon. missed you all!
