Game of Thrones is all about revenge be thankfully we don’t have to live that way

I love Game of Thrones. It’s one of my guilty pleasures.
In the new season of Game of Thrones Sansa thought her brother, Jon Snow, was being weak & stupid like her late father, Ned and her late brother Robb, because Jon was too merciful to the houses who betrayed them. That was not the way of the world she knew. Let us not take our lead from how man deals with vengeance.
The bible says in
Romans 12:17 ESV
17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
We live in an eye for an eye society, where reality tv reigns and it’s all telling people off and attacking others for the smallest of slights, even as tiny as how someone looks your way.

1 Peter 3:9 NIV
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
So when we are plotting or acting out against those who have wronged us, we are blocking our own blessings.

Leviticus 19:18 MSG
“Don’t seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people.
“Love your neighbor as yourself. I am God.


Mark 11:25 NIV
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”


Matthew 5:7
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
We forgive so we may be forgiven.

Romans 12:19 NKJV
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
So you don’t have to worry about getting even with others, because they will receive their comeuppance from God who stands in judgement of all.
