7-31-17 Devotional Diva - What Do You Believe?
"You don’t have to have what you think you have to have to do what you have to do." Is something my crazy dad used to say, when he was alive, to remind us that we don’t have to wait for the perfect circumstances before we go for our dreams. All of his craziness and abuse aside. This one piece of advice does make sense and reminds me of verses from the bible.
The Lord can do a lot with a little. Think of what Jesus did with five loaves and fishes for more than 5,000 hungry people, or the lesser known stories of Elisha and the widow’s olive oil, or feeding a hundred men through belief and the grace of Lord.

2 Kings 4:42-44 (NIV) Feeding of a Hundred
42 A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.
43 “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’”
44 Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

I have trouble still with wanting things to be perfect before I try. My fear gets in the way of my belief. It makes me wonder if I am blocking my own blessings. During the times when I believed without a doubt that I would do something like… go to school in Vancouver Film School, when I had no money and no way of getting there, it happened anyway. I need that unwavering belief that God will move mountains for me. I think that is what I have lost along the way.
----------------------------------------------------------------
John 14:12 (NIV)
12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

What do you believe?
Do you have something you want to do, but you believe you don’t have everything you need to complete it? Have you tried trusting in God to make it work regardless?
