Oud (oudh) (agarwood) is one of the most ancient and sacred wood resin, that can be traced well over 10,000 years ago.

They talk about oud in the Bible and the Coran, of course, in the Vedas and in other sacred texts. Oud is what they used to anoint people when they came to throne; what they traded for gold and to do the most powerful magic.

Nowadays, there is a huge confusion for those who are new to this product - especially, in the US, where people are just discovering this product as though it is new.

So everyone thinks they know oud because they've heard or seen someone recently talk about it.... hence the confusion.

You can tell the quality and energetic/magic quality of oud (oudh) from not only the price, the packaging (usually real raw oud does not come in a light bottle because of the deteriorative quality of light exposure of this expensive luxury product.

You can also tell from the smell, which is nothing compared to the synthetic oud fragrances out there that have chemical additives to ressemble the real raw organic oud or cultivated oud.
