HELPFUL TIPS:
* I prefer hot glue for all my crafts, BUT it will not last for most plastic and metal projects. If you’re not crafting for fun like me, extend the life of your DIYS by using industrial strength glue.

Old Brick Decorative sign:
* Any brand of spackl will work for this design
*Try more vibrant colors like blue and yellow, if your not into the neutrals. Just spray paint with the pop of color and brush white and grey paint on top, just like I did in the video
* To fan out a cheap art brush, face the brushes on a surface, then smash and twirl them until the bristles start to fan out
*The spackle is water based, so you can clean up with a wet wipe
*My spackle instructions indicate 30 minutes to 5 hours for drying. It depends on thickness.

Birdhouse Tissue Box:
*To get the best seam, place the napkin on the glue, press on the edges but do not glue them over. After pressing use a little water and tear off the edges, then glue the edges down. When you move to the next side, place it on for fitting first and trim so the edges SLIGHTLY overlap, no more than 1/8 of an inch (small LOL).This way the edges “melt” into each other versus overlapping. In the video mine overlapped about ¼ of an inch on the flawed sides.

* BUYING IN BULK: Go to Hobby lobby Joann Fabrics, or check Amazon, Etsy, and buy in bulk for gems, trim, beads and pearls! Buying at Dollar Tree isn’t always the cheapest option. I bought 1 pound of gems and pearls for $8 when they were 50% off and I paid $7 for of gems at joann when they were 70% off. For my wondering minds :) I’m a big city girl, but my parents are from the country, and I spent many summers and holidays at my grandparent’s house. Farmhouse décor is more than decorations for me, it’s nostalgic! None of my grandparents are physically here today, so filling my home with decorative memories leaves me feeling like a kid again! Papa Bear and Zari enjoys it too.

LIVE sign
Spackle
Aged Copper Spray paint (Walmart- make sure its plastic friendly)
Art brush
White and gray paint (Walmart, AppleBarrel brand)
Popsicle stick to apply product
Wet wipe (for clean up)
Tissue box
Mod podge
Gems
Sponge brush
water
Something sharp to cut with
Hot glue dispenser (large one from amazon, small one from hobby lobby)
OR
Stronger glue
Something to write with
