I found two affordable hair styling products for those who have thick, wavy, curly (or a mix of both like me) that not only help define your hair but contain frizziness. Here's how I use them to wear my naturally large Polynesian mixed hair.

Shaping Jelly $7 https://shopstyle.it/l/3rzy (I've purchased about 6 of these within the last few months)
Spiked Glue $7 https://shopstyle.it/l/3rzB
Wet Brush https://shopstyle.it/l/3rzG
Hair ties I love https://shopstyle.it/l/3rAs (I buy the black ones)
The toothbrush was unused and random
Directions:
1. After shampooing + conditioning, keep hair wet. Not dripping, but not almost dry. (I have tried dripping wet hair and It still works)
2. Section hair off in two parts to easily style. Comb using a wet brush. (I don't normally comb wet hair, but It's needed for this style)
3. Apply the shaping jelly in smaller sections starting mid-shaft to the ends. Work whatever is left closer to the roots
4. Twist hair in one direction to make sure you have the jelly throughout your whole head
5. Section the front of your hair off so your hair dries and lays flat
6. Use the Spiked glue to lay down baby hairs. I use a toothbrush. You can use an eyebrow brush or a smaller brush. I just like using a toothbrush.
7. Optional: If you want to style, I like sectioning my hair off (Like I demonstrated in the beginning) And as it dries, it gives volume when you remove the hair tie.
Additional information:
- I can go 3 days without having to add more product or water to revive my hair.
- It starts to relax and becomes more of a loose wave/poof which means you'll need to re-style.
- For sleeping, I spin my hair in a high bun and secure with a hair tie.
