HELPFUL TIPS:
* I prefer hot glue for all my crafts, BUT it will not last for most plastic and metal projects. If you’re not crafting for fun like me, extend the life of your DIYS by using industrial strength glue.
*For DIY #1 use a flat firm board versus a foam board and use a textured background not a flat one like I used in this video. It's cheaper to buy gems, beads, etc. in bulk as it is cheaper and you have more options. If you use the mirrored paper, remove the film cover first. For a string free hanging option: use the top of a binder clip and slightly bend it towards you then glue in the center with cardboard.
* For DIY #2, use caution when removing the metal caps from the glass perfume bottles. You can also use slim glass candle holder instead of recycling. Eye glass beaded cords are an excellent source for beads.
* For DIY #3, you can spray paint the top circle and for the sides maybe cut a small opening where the gem would go and insert a bulb from some lights. That might look pretty! On the inside, make a big knot and glue it in place. This will prevent the fixture from falling when mounted.
* Go to Hobby lobby Joann Fabrics, or check Amazon, Etsy, and buy in bulk for gems, trim, beads and pearls! Buying at Dollar Tree isn’t always the cheapest option. I bought 1 pound of gems and pearls for $8 when they were 50% off and I paid $7 for of gems at joann when they were 70% off. MATERIALS (From Dollar Tree, see exceptions):
Plastic friendly Silver spray paint (hobby lobby)
Ornate frame
Wax paper
Something to write with
1 full size foam board or firm board
Tape
Something sharp to cut with
Textured background (foil, mosaic plastic or mirrored sheet from amazon)
Acrylic gems (grab around 6packs just in case and keep the rest for your stash)
Gemstone stickers
Bulk gems (ovals, circles and tear drop gems, see note below)
Larger gems from gem sets
Bling wrap
Hot glue or other
Mirrored mosaic tiles
2 paper clips
Cardboard
2 perfume bottles
Picking knife or anything sharp (don’t recall where I purchased this from)
Nail polish remover
Metallic tattoos
Sponge brush
Water
Clear nail polish
Tiara
Fragrance diffuser sets
Decorative charm or broach (JoAnns, see below)
Beaded Eyeglass cords
6 silver 3 compartment trays/ dish
2 String lights or push led light
