Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

I have 1,440 mins in every 24 hr day.

I spend roughly 8hrs=480mins sleeping

I spend 8hrs /480mins at work

I spend 15 mins a day on my Youversion devotional app

I spend 30 mins on Devotional Diva (avg if I record, less if I just post a verse)

I spend 240 mins a day watching TV … at least

I spend at least 60 to 120 mins playing games/youtube (broken into 10 to 15 mins segments… or not. Also, this usually overlaps with TV time)


So TV Time 240 + Game Time 120 =360 mins or 6 hrs of my day… maybe more on my days off.


Where is your treasure?

I spend less time playing passive video games, but I still play, as sort of a way to escape the stress of what I am dealing with. To hide from reality.  But is hiding in a game the same as hiding in alcohol or drugs? As over-eating to soothe the emotional stress?


Should I be spending my precious time focusing on God’s word? I do my devotional through You Version everday for the last 188 days straight (#BRAG) but that just means that I have taking 30 mins out of the 1,440 mins I have each day to spend with the Lord.  That’s in 2017. It was usually 0mins a day before that.


When I compared that to the amount of time I spend watching TV and playing games or watching youtube videos, how does that compare. I cringe to consider it.

My mom and my sister are fasting with their churches. The Lord has been putting it on my heart to fast from the games and court tv. I LOVES ME SOME COURT TV!


I fasted from the games for a week. IT WAS SO HARD


I have 3 christian books I want to read and haven’t, but I have time to watch TV.


What if I uninstalled the games, didn’t turn the TV on?

What if I spend that “free” time reading and praying and in praise worship with bumping christian music?


What is my faith level and how can I improve that? (heard on Charles Stanley on radio)
