► LAST TIME: "How To Be Confident With Acne" http://bit.ly/2gXuVhm
Hey everyone!
Welcome to another updated video! I talked about this in the past (as some of you have noted! Props for being long-time viewers!) and wanted to give it a bit more detail.
I know a few of you have either taken this drug, or you're taking it right now. I didn't make this as a way of saying you're doing the wrong thing - because you're NOT. You've gone through the wringer, you've had enough, you've had a number of professional opinions and you know EXACTLY what you've gotten yourself into. And I 100% support your decision, because you certainly don't need me to tell you what's involved with making it!
This is simply my personal opinion on this medication. It's that simple.
If you watch this and you have a different opinion to what I've expressed, then I absolutely encourage you to write a comment about your experience and what you think!
A bit of information about this medication for anyone who is interested:
Accutane is a form of vitamin A. It reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands in your skin, and helps your skin renew itself more quickly. Accutane is used to treat severe nodular acne. It is usually given after other acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.
Accutane can cause severe, life-threatening birth defects. Never use Accutane if you are pregnant. Women of child-bearing potential must agree in writing to use two specific forms of birth control and have regular pregnancy tests before, during, and after taking isotretinoin.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to isotretinoin or to parabens, or if you are pregnant or may become pregnant.
To make sure you can safely take Accutane, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:
- a personal or family history of depression or mental illness;
- heart disease, high cholesterol or triglycerides;
- osteoporosis or other bone disorders;
- an intestinal disorder such as inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn's disease;
- diabetes;
- asthma;
- an eating disorder (anorexia nervosa); or
- liver disease.
Accutane can cause severe, life-threatening birth defects if the mother takes the medication during pregnancy. Even one dose of Accutane can cause major birth defects of the baby's ears, eyes, face, skull, heart, and brain. Never use Accutane if you are pregnant.
(Information is taken from https://www.drugs.com/accutane.html )
As you can see, this is not a medication to be taken lightly, and you must know all risks associated with it before use.
If you are taking Accutane/Roaccutane and feel emotional, distressed, or depressed, PLEASE tell your dermatologist or health care professional immediately. This medication can cause depression in some people.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this, and read all this! Hopefully I see you back here on Monday.
Xx Jess
