for a serious challenge, today i'm doing a 1 eyeshadow palette challenge with juvia's place festival palette! for this challenge, i'm only using eyeshadows from the festival palette, and i MUST use all of the colors...plus i needed to make it into a unique shironuri makeup look. this was definitely not easy, and one of my most complicated makeup challenges to date.

a lot of you loved the makeup look i created using the ABH subculture palette last month, so i'm back to challenge myself again...but this time committing to using all of the eyeshadows. if you're in a makeup rut, i encourage you to try this as it's a really good way to test your ability to work with a limited selection of eyeshadows...it's really a good way to test your creative potential.

i actually experimented 4 times with this palette. the 4th attempt is what you're seeing now. the previous 3 attempts were a disaster, but i wasn't about to quit...
for inspiration, i used a few bob ross painting techniques, specifically the way he paints clouds. i used to follow his videos to help me with oil painting, and i do acrylic landscape paintings too. i decided to translate those techniques to face painting, and to help me create a very unique look. however i didn't actually use them to paint clouds. always keep your mind open to new ideas anywhere, you never know what you can use as makeup techniques...at least that's how i feel.
as for how i feel about juvia's place festival palette, i don't feel like i've used it enough to give a good review on it. and i don't do first impressions on this channel because i think first impressions aren't helpful at all and can misrepresent how a product performs. with that said, i notice that the pans are pretty close to being the same size as sugarpill pans, and i think the shadows are pretty reminiscent of sugarpill. in fact i feel izafa is a near dupe of love+. i think perhaps i should purchase more palettes and maybe do a review comparing both brands in the future...hmm hmm.
anyways, i hope you enjoyed - i will be unveiling a new makeup project soon! been pretty busy!
