Hey Guys! I'm self aware, and I know I've been less active lately. I've pulled back to about a video a week, and that's been because I needed some time to recharge my batteries and take care of my mental health. I've had very little makeup content for the last few months, and there are several reasons for that. The most important is that I find makeup videos to be more intimate, and I take it more personally when they don't do as well. The beauty community has changed a lot since I started making videos is 2007, and half the time I feel like I'm juggling trying to keep up with ever-changing standards and trends, trying to forge my own path, and trying to figure out what you guys want to see. I feel like I'm in a rat race, and it can be disheartening to put everything into projects that don't end up resonating with you, or maybe you aren't seeing them due to keyword trends. Add to that dealing with harsh keyboard judgments and mean comments, and the fact that Keeping up with the Jones' has never been my thing- I like to dance to the beat of my own wacky drum, but I feel it's getting harder and harder to do that while finding and maintaining an audience. Even this video- I have no idea how to title it or tag it so that it reaches the right people. As one of the original Beauty Gurus, I've seen the beauty community grow, and change, and expand and a lot of it is amazing! There are now more people than ever watching beauty content. However not all the changes have been positive and sometimes I find it hard to not be bitter that some people have ruined what was so special about it. Without going into specifics, there are a lot of people who have taken advantage of their viewerships, or sell you a false reality and I'm not here for it. NEXT!

During my mini-hiatus, I've realized that the solution isn't to abandon my makeup content, but to dive into it in my own way. Make the intimate, real videos I want to see. I'm going to do my best to strike a better balance between makeup and fashion content, because having both and being a badass at both it what makes my channel special. Being one of the originals who is still here is what makes my channel special. Having never broken your trust and staying true for a decade makes my channel something a lot of you find rare. So here's to the next 10!
