This video is quite delayed but I finally got around to editing our March trip to Portland Oregon! I've been dreaming of visiting the place and am so excited to share our trip with you.
Do leave your comments below! It's my first time doing a vlog and I'd love to know what you guys think!
I am also planning to do up a blog post once I get my blog up and running that will include more pictures, maps and itinerary details, so keep a look out for that! (:

TIPS:
- A jacket with a hood is great for the unpredictable rain
- Getting to Mt Hood can be difficult during low season, get an uber to Sandy Transit Centre (~$60), and take the Mt Hood Express Shuttle ($2 one way). The total trip takes about 1.5hrs.

PLACES WE WENT TO:
Columbia River Gorge - A beautiful drive along the highway
Vista House - Instead of heading straight to the falls, take this uphill route from the highway to see breathtaking views
Multnomah Falls & Lodge - Only 30mins away from the city, one of the most grand waterfalls I've seen. Also, have a snack at the lodge, it is beautiful!
Skamania Lodge - A wonderful retreat, if only we had more time here. They have a spa, hot tub, pools, golf and the best part has to be the fresh crisp pine filled air.
Downtown Portland - Food carts lining the streets, lots of eateries, cafes, shopping and malls
Mount Hood - A winter wonderland on the way up! If you do intend to drive by yourself in winter/spring, chains are needed as the roads will be slippery.
Timberline Lodge - A place full of history, I truly felt like I went back in time. An amazing place for winter sports and outdoor adventures in the summer! Not to mention, the heated pool and hot tub in the snow, I'd keep going back just for that.
Pearl District - A mix of the old and the new, a lovely human-scaled shopping district with contemporary stores like made well, anthropologie etc.
Stumptown Coffee - Touted to be the best coffee in town!
Nob Hill - A pretty and quaint town/street with interesting stores at every corner. A good mix of hidden gems, indie, and chain stores.
Powell Book Store - It spans an entire block, need I say more?
PLACES TO EAT AT:
Thai Peacock - Nice food, a little on the sweet side
Thai Bloom! - The most authentic Thai food we had the entire trip!
Bamboo Sushi - They use sustainable farming methods and the food's really good, but the queues can be a little long.
Timberline Lodge Cascade Dining Room - good dinners with fine cuisine standard
Y'Bar @ Timberline - Yummy drinks like hot apple cider, butterscotch rum, and huge salad portions
WY'East Cafe @ Timberline - If you fancy a quick meal, this cafeteria style cafe serves good value meals!
Multnomah Lodge - We had bar snacks, and a proper lunch. The sweet potatoes fries are amazing, and the lunch portions are huge.
