Working at sephora I get asked alot of questions. One I'll get from beginners and seasoned make-up lovers alike is "Which is better? A brush or a sponge?" They both have their pros and cons, so let's check them out.

Working at sephora I get asked alot of questions. One I'll get from beginners and seasoned make-up lovers alike is "Which is better? A brush or a sponge?" They both have their pros and cons, so let's check them out.
One pro to using brushes to apply liquids is that it doesn't suck up as much of the product. With brushes you can definitely get a more full coverage look, or even a more sheer application, all while using less product. Even when you wet a make-up sponge, it sucks up some of the product. Don't believe me? Pay close attention next time you wash your make-up sponge. Or better yet, try applying your foundation on one side with a brush and the other side with a sponge- still using the same amount of product- and see which side is more full coverage.
Now don't get wrong, some people swear by their beauty sponges and that's perfectly fine. You do you boo. Personally I like sponges as a finishing product. After I've blended my foundation or concealer, I'll go over with my beauty blender to give a more flawless finished look. It's kind of a compromise with my make-up. Brushes give me the coverage I want, and sponges finish it off.
