DIY FESTIVAL BRA! (Or Genie Bra for me personally lol)
Materials Needed:
- Gems, Rhinestones and Crystals
- Glitter Ribbon (Or any ribbon)
- Sequins
- Big Gem Or Stone (something for the middle of the bra)
- A Dangly Earring
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
I got all my craft stuff at Michael's. :)
Normally, I wouldn't wear a bra as a halloween costume (I understand it can be risqué), but this goes well with things like Princess Jasmine, a Mermaid or (in my case) a Genie! Get creative. For the younger girls watching and people who aren't comfortable showing their body: If you'd like to make this less skin bearing, then just attach some thin veil like material to the bra so that it hangs low and covers your tummy. This can work for any body type! Just adjust it to your liking. You don't have to show skin like I did. You have to remember that it's a bra. You could even try wearing the bra underneath something else like a jacket and zip it up most of the way.
DISCLAIMER: I hate that I have to write this, but people get so offended over every little thing, so I feel better safe than sorry. In NO way was I trying to mock anyone's culture or traditions. When I made the genie costume, it reminded me of Princess Jasmine and The Genie from Aladdin, so I used ancient Arabic sounding music in the background and did a bit of 'belly dancing'. (Obviously, I'm not a belly dancer lol) I was just trying to make the video fun. I was acting. I hope people can understand that and don't come at me with 'cultural appropriation' comments. Thank you.
