ABOUT JENNY

Jennifer Clift was born in Versailles, France, of British parents, diplomats. He grew up with his older sister and her twin, in countries as far away as Malaysia, Communist China, Canada and Northern Ireland at war, besides England. A childhood full of experiences (breakfast at the Great Wall of China, the Taj Majal to the moonlight ...), different people, smells, feelings and sounds. In his many houses, always music, with his mother, a pianist, and his father, amateur singer.

It began with the piano and singing and then in the British boarding school where he was discovered the violin. It was love at first sight, a way to express to the outside and into the interior, my practical and spiritual work .

Jennifer studied at the Trinity College of Music , London, with master Bela Katona , finishing Bachelor Interpreter violin. He moved to Spain and now lives in Madrid, and thus has many years in the same house, something that had never happened in his life and loves.

His professional life has been varied; in the fields orchestra , in chamber music and in teaching .

His extensive experience in the orchestra began in London where semi-professional orchestras abound - a "training" very solid. Then in Spain he followed with various chamber orchestras and symphony and made more than 120 concerts and five recordings with the Orchestra of Radio Spanish Television , acquiring an important experience under the batons of such international and designated directors like Sergiu Comissiona , Yehudi Menuhin , Neeme Jarvi and Enrique García Asensio and many others.

Jennifer became the concertmaster of the Chamartin Symphony Orchestra, for two years, concertmaster of the Metropolitan Orchestra of Madrid . He loves what he supposed to be the first violin of a large formation, the responsibilities, the solo repertoire, and above all, participate 100 percent in a job considered as privileged and exciting.

Today is very active as a professional ' freelance 'with various orchestras in and around Madrid, like Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Spain.

The chamber music is another challenge for Jennifer; also a varied and rich repertoire and although the music must also remove it from within, now the musical decisions are much more personal, taken between peqeño group of people who have to reach an agreement. All this is put in practice with The Laurus Ensemble , the piano and string quartet founded in 2010 and currently with his violin and guitar duo, the Laurus Freestyle Duo, created in 2013 with the American guitarist Cy Williams, and his violin and piano duo, the Classic Duo Laurus , with Dutch pianist Marleen van de Zande.

Although the current focus is more towards Jennifer interpretation has always been very involved in teaching . Its basic philosophy is the enjoyment of music and violin, arising from technical progress there. His influences are many and tries to get the best out of all schools and educational trends, believing that in this life there are many paths that lead you to the goal.
