Hello my little jellies! So for today's video I have a mermaid! When first doing this makeup I was a little unsure whether or not to upload this. After doing a look I always text my sister with a pic, asking "To upload or not to upload". I usually need a second opinion. And when she asked with "You look like a 90's watercolor mermaid", not only was this the BEST compliment, but it gave me a great title for this look! Even without her compliment, it usually takes me at most 24 hours to decide whether to upload or not to upload. I really enjoyed making this character. So for what I am wearing: the necklace I got at a beach trip a long time ago. I made the earrings and I have a tutorial for the headband below. The rhinestones I got from Hobby Lobby and they came in such a HUGE container! Rhinestones for days!!! So the wig... this was a VERY cheap eBay wig that I got earlier this year. I originally tried to crimp it with lost of braids and hair spray, but that wasn't working. I then cut off a lot of the length and reattached the hair under the wefts with hot glue. THIS IS NOT ADVISED!!! I teased the crap out of it. I put baby powder and dry shampoo on it to take away the very plastic-looking texture that it had. I sprayed it with a lot of hairspray to keep all of the teasing in. NONE OF THIS IS ADVISED!!!! Just buy a decent wig instead of a super-cheap one and don't go through all of the trouble that I did. With that said, I plan on using this wig for A LOT of Makeup Tutorials this Halloween season, just so that I can get my money's worth and know that I I went through all of that trouble for something. If you would like to buy a decent wig from a decent place check out http://www.mallatts.com/store/theatrical-and-halloween-costume-accessories/costume-wigs.html I have bought "The Shepherdess" and "Women's Colorful Fantasy Wig" in dark blue. I loved the fantasy wig and you can see pictures of me wearing it on my Instagram. The white wig is okay, but needs a little fluffing out. I was very pleased with their products and how fast I received them. Anyways, I will most likely have a full review on wigs later in their own separate video. Please check out the the links below and the list of products that I used in this video. So when doing makeup like this I always ask myself what I would do differently. If there is more that I wanted to change than keep, then I usually end up redoing it, but as far as this look goes... the only things that I would have done differently is probably put white liner instead of black on my waterline and added really long and flashy false eyelashes. That's really about it, maybe not make her a sad mermaid? But yeah, for the most part I really love it and if I had a wig that I truly loved and look contacts, it would really look amazing! How would you turn this look into your own?
