Hi everyone!
The much-talked about beauty blender is an amazing, amazing makeup tool. Whether you're wanting to apply a liquid foundation, blend out your under-eye concealer, apply setting powder to the face, blush, bronzer... etc... this little guy could very well become your new best friend.
There should be steps taken when caring for this $19 pink sponge, just so it lasts the maximum amount of time it is supposed to, and you're able to get the most out of the price you pay for it!
I clean my beauty blender about every week or week and half and I use it an average of 3 times a week. Sometimes, in between deep cleaning - I will spray a little bit of makeup spray on the sponge and rub it against a cloth to remove excess amount of product so it doesn't build up as much.
I use Johnson's baby shampoo because 1. I use it to clean my other makeup brushes 2. It is the most gentle when it comes to effectively removing makeup build-up and waterproof makeup and 3. It makes my tools smell nice, hehe. ;)
But I really think Johnson's works really well. I know a lot of people use dish soap (which I wouldn't because it deteriorates the sponge layer of the beauty blender), but I would stick to Johnson's if I were to recommend any type of cleansing method.
DO NOT feel like you have to buy the Beauty Blender cleanser that is sold to go with the beauty blender (sold next to the beauty blender by Sephora). I haven't tried it personally, but I don't think its worth the splurge if you can use something inexpensive such as baby shampoo.
I absolutely LOVE the beauty blender and some of my favorite foundations to use with the beauty blender are:
-Makeup Forever HD Foundation
-MAC Studio Fix
-Naked Skin by Urban Decay
-Becca's Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation
-Benefit's Hello Flawless
I would replace my beauty blender about every 3-4 months if you're able to, but I can honestly say that if you take good enough care of it, it can last up to five and a half.
Also, my editing software was being weird today and not allowing me to edit - so hopefully you don't mind this straight from capture!
Thank you guys so much for watching, and let me know if you have any questions!
