Hi everyone! Since so many people requested it in my shironuri videos, I made a video showing how I customize false lashes using paper. It's a very easy, but most importantly, CHEAP way to make any false eyelashes super dramatic. It's a good, cheap way to get custom falsies for Halloween too since the holiday is coming soon...^__^;
I started making these after I saw a photo by makeupmouse on Instagram. She placed a few white paper strips on her false eyelashes to create a really dramatic eye look. I loved it so much I wanted to experiment to create different looks with it. All my credit goes to her! If I hadn't seen it I doubt I would have ever created these falsies ^_^
Please go check out her Instagram btw! Her looks are amazing!

Also! For detailed instructions & other info, please make sure to read below!
♫ ♥¸.•*´ What You'll Need ♫ ♥¸.•*´
- A set of false lashes with a somewhat thick band. I recommend this because I cannot get the paper to stay onto lashes with a thinner band. The Eylure Grand Glamour lashes are perfect for this.
- Eyelash glue
- Eyelash curler
- Cardstock or really thick drawing paper. This makes it sturdy enough to hold a curl but doesn't make it so heavy that it hurts your eyes. You can choose any color your wish.
♫ ♥¸.•*´ Instructions ♫ ♥¸.•*´
1. First, curl the false eyelashes. You won't be able to curl them after the cardstock is applied so it's best to do it now. It also helps loosen up the eyelashes so they don't apply so stiffly to the eyelash line.
2. Cut out long, medium, and short spikes using cardstock. The long, medium, and short pieces should match. It's best to cut them in pairs so you all have matching pieces to apply to each lash (otherwise your lashes can look uneven later on). Cut at least 20 of them.
3. Using your fingers, gently curl the cardstock upward. I run my fingers over them to get them to curl.
4. Apply eyelash glue to the underside of each cardstock. Allow that to get tacky.
5. Using tweezers, apply the biggest pieces to the ends of the falsies. Press down on the ends of them to make sure they are secure.
6. Moving a spcae over, add another large piece.
7. In between the large pieces, add an assortment of medium to small pieces. As you move across the band towards the inner part, make sure the pieces get gradually smaller (it looks better this way).
8. Separate the false eyelashes from the box to add the smallest pieces in the innermost part of the band. This is so the glue on the cardstock doesn't accidentally glue the two false eyelashes together (had that happen before, it sucks).
9. Allow it to "set" for a few hours and they are ready to apply!

Other notes...these falsies, if made correctly, shouldn't feel heavy. They don't last very long though. After a few uses, the paper can get ratty so you'll either need to remove or replace the paper. I use these lashes for seriously dramatic looks.
Editing this video was a nightmare. I recorded the entire thing but had to cut a lot it out because my computer is absolute buttcheeks. But overall it took me 30 minutes to complete.
I recorded the audio separately with my Blue Yeti microphone. You can hear all of the subtle sounds wut! O_O
For some reason when I was recording a voiceover for this, I ran into a lot of problems, which is why there isn't one. I spent 3 hours trying to fix it jeesh :/ I also had a helluva time trying to color correct this video but at least I actually fixed that.
If you have any questions, let me know!
