It's Rymingtahn here! Today, I chose to share my thought regarding Colin Kapernicks' and others' decision to protest the National Anthem. The National Anthem is a song that gives me chills when I hear it; a song that made me proud to be an American Soldier.

The history of the National Anthem dates back to 1812, and it's a part of American history. Some people are against this protest; maybe it's because they don't know why Colin and others are protesting. Some are supporting this protest, maybe because they know the history of the national anthem and demand a change. SUBSCRIBE for my videos, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, even though having a 5 month old makes it a little hard.
Integrity is something I learned from my parents at a young age; doing the right thing when no one is watching. Integrity is also one of the Army Values, a set of principles and beliefs that we live by. What will you decide to do, once you are informed. Will you ignore the facts or will you look them straight in the eyes and do something about it.

Little known facts
1. Growing up in Washington, DC we would sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing" every morning before class started. It would play over the loud speaker. That was over 20 years ago, and after not hearing it for all that time, I can still remember the words. Lift Every Voice and Sing is known as the Black National Anthem, a patriotic song, written to motivate black people to rise above the oppression, and march on until victory is won!
2. Black Lives Matter! The NON STOP killing of black people in America has citizen, black and some white, demanding that Black Lives do, in fact matter. And of course, All lives matter, but we don't have to remind people of that, now do we?
