Prepping for Outdoor Tanning
-Decide whether you have light skin or dark skin. Light skin will need a higher SPF sunscreen and dark skin that is not prone to burning needs a lower SPF.
-Shave prior to exposure, if you require shaving, do it a few hours before tanning so that the skin gets a chance to recover. If you shave skin prior to tanning your shedding skin cells and getting rid of the hair ensures that the tan can be distributed evenly.
-Exfoliate before you tan to remove as many dead skin cells as possible before tanning. But don't forget to moisturize after exfoliate.
-For clothing and bathing suits, Dark colors retain heat, so wear light coloured clothes, which will reflect the light and keep you cooler.
-Put lotion on every day until the day you go tanning. It eliminates the oil on your skin and puts more layers on your skin.
-Wearing sunscreen on your toenails keeps them healthy and strong.
-Munch on some carrots a few hours before you go out, they are full of carotene and help you get a nice glow.
-Always use a moisturizer after you shower
-Apply a decent sunscreen like spf 15 every hour.
-Use a loofah in the shower to get rid of dead skin cells and keep your skin glowing.
-To enhance your tan do jumping jacks Oxygenation fuels skin cell functions, stimulating melanin production and accelerating the tanning process.
During Tanning
-Bring a spray bottle and squirt yourself on the mist setting frequently. The sun will be more directed to your skin because it has water for it to absorb.
-Use tanning oil, baby oil, olive oil, vegetable oil.
-Don't forget you can still get tan when it is overcast. You can still get tan when it is cold.
-Make sure your bathing suit lines match up or change up your bathing suits every time.
-Push on your skin to see if you have a white mark in the shape of your finger print - this shows that you have started to tan. The idea is to get your skin to a point where you can push it, see that white finger mark, but not be red.
-Don't lie in the sun for hours in a row. Every hour or half an hour, get up and cool off. If you are around a pool, jump in the pool to cool off and then go back to sunbathing. Make sure you re apply sunscreen after though!
-Use lotion with an even higher spf on your face and stay out of the sun between 10am- 12pm the sun is at it's strongest then and you will be prone to burning.
-If you are going to be swimming or cooling off in a pool, make sure your sunscreen is waterproof, and reapply it every hour.
After Tanning
-After you have been sunbathing, apply sunscreen, it cools your skin down and hydrates it.
-Having a bath or shower after tanning is the best way to remove oils and lotions from your skin. It also helps in removing any perspiration or salts that are usually deposited on your skin. However, the shower should not be too hot and make sure you apply a good moisturizer after towelling dry.
-To avoid wrinkles later in life, use virgin coconut oil after tanning. Apply a healthy amount where ever the sun touched, and leave for at least a half hour. Wipe off excess before getting dressed. Don't go out tanning again without another dose of sunscreen, or the coconut oil will make you burn quicker.

They contain essential nutrients that will soften and revitalize your skin. Not only that, their unique hydration techniques keeps the skin constantly moisturized thereby prolonging the tanning results.
