Hello! In my vlog for this week I revisit some artifacts I looked at last week, and cataloged their identity. As I've said many times, curating is a TEDIOUS process. It took me a week just to properly identify 4-5 out of 4,200 artifacts. I am the only person working on this project right now so it will be cumbersome. As I get used to 'vlogging' I will become comfortable with showing more on what I do.

FAQ
1. What is my project?
I am working on cataloging over 4,200 Native American artifacts that were donated to a local museum. In two years time we will be establishing an exhibit to showcase them.
2. Why am I doing this?
Being Native American myself, without a tribal affiliation, this is essentially the only way I can show support and respect to my culture. With our government being as corrupt as it is, Native American tribes are putting their shields up when it comes to obtaining affiliation. Some of us are not in it for money or free education but unfortunately those that are, give the rest of us a bad name. It is important that people help people but it is also important to preserve what we have in America before the Native American culture is gone from modernizing.
3. Am I scared of legal consequences?
The only way I could get in trouble with the law is if I offend the Native American culture. I am not mutilating the artifacts or giving false information. Every one of these pieces is important to not only my career but my identity (and others). They are taken with the best of care to my knowledge. Contracts and procurement is vital when it comes to curating so every aspect of legal processes is being fulfilled.
4. What am I studying in college?
Anthropology with a double major in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability - minor in Archaeology
5. What do I plan to do with my degree?
Watershed restoration on reservations.
