9 years ago, in December 2006, my Jinx Draconis was born in my friend Carol's closet to his Momma, Doofus, and his Dad, Darkness. Still covered in afterbirth and sightless, he crawled to me, the runt of the litter. Beautiful, with shiny black fur, I knew he was the one for me. In early February, I took him home. He has been by my side ever since. My days will never be the same without his paw reaching for me in the bathroom, playing fetch with twisty-ties, and genuinely knowing that he knew me. When I was pregnant, he would hold my belly knowingly. After Ramona arrived, Jinx was ever present, her watcher, rubbing his head on the bottom of her newborn feet. The past few months have been so hard for my boy, as a tumor has been causing more and more physical issues for him. Over the last week, he hasn't eaten much, there has been blood in his urine and now in his saliva, too. He is thin, weak, and still purrs when I come into the room, but he can hardly lift his head anymore. I'm taking him to the vet in a few minutes, and I think this might be it. If it is, just know how much I love him, and how hard we tried to keep him comfortable and well. #JinxDraconis #BlackCat #WitchesFamiliars
