Hey guys. So, I'm all about protective styling. Not simply because it's the best way for ME to retain length while growing out my hair (especially since I'm dealing with some heat damage http://goo.gl/W2JxUY ). But, since I just had another baby http://goo.gl/kkclQh , I don't have a lot of time to do my hair every day (or every other day).

I decided to purchase products from the Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Moisture L.O.C. line. When I first heard of these products, I ran to the only beauty supply store in my area that carried them (at the time when they first came out).

Since the L.O.C. (liquid, oil, cream) is a great way to lock and seal in moisture, why not combine this with the ultimate protective style?

These pin curled twists make use of double protective styling, once with the twists and again with pinning up those twists.

To begin, I shampoo'd my hair with Sulfate-free Cleansing Shampoil. I then followed that up with the Deep Conditioning Delight to deep condition my hair. I sat under my steamer for about 40 minutes, letting the product penetrate my strands.

Next it was time for the three products that are at the center of the L.O.C. line.

Taking a small section of hair, I first Super Quench Leave-In Spray (L). Then, I applied the Soak It Up Oil Cocktail (O). The finish, I sealed with the Lock It In Sealing Cream (C). Once these products were applied, I twisted my hair in two strand twists.

Once all of my hair had been twisted, I pin curled each twist, using bobby pins to secure the pin curl. After pin curling all of the twists, I went back to make sure the pin curls covered my scalp completely. This meant adjusting some of the pin curls and repositioning others.

This is a great way to really protect your hair. It also allows you to rock a short tapered look, which might be a welcomed change (if your hair isn't short).
