ABOUT THE SERIES ↓
The Makeup of the Zodiac Series is my first makeup series where I create extreme, theatrical looks of each sign based on my personal interpretation of the sign's characteristics and symbolism. These looks will not follow the typical interpretations people have done in the past (i.e.; many people do a mermaid look for Pisces, but I don't want to do that). I try to upload a new look once per month.

ABOUT CANCER
Cancer is both symbolized by the Moon and the Crab, but since I didn't want to do a "common" interpretation of this sign, I didn't go for a crab look. Cancer tends to be characterized by its maternal instincts, emotions, feelings, etc. Tends to wear its heart on its sleeve. So I didn't want to do anything structured. I was also looking at Kabuki makeup at the time and thought about incorporating something that wasn't very structured but somewhat resembled Kabuki.

So I decided to incorporate the "watercolor" technique I did in my Pisces tutorial but change a few things...namely, I applied it so the colors were in the general shape of a crab (can you see it? ^_~) but had a bunch of splotches and blob, so it wasn't structured, since Cancer is a water sign. I also added the moon since it is represented by the Moon...and voila.

This was one of two designs I had planned for Cancer, but I scrapped the other design, looked really lame lol.

Leo will be coming next month, but it will be delayed until the middle of September since I'm going on a trip ^_^ Going to Yellowstone! Of course I'll have a vlog to post after I return!

Later this week I will be posting something more wearable, a "wearable" mermaid-inspired look...with glitter :D
