This makeup tutorial is all about THE EXTREME ART OF HIGHLIGHTING AND CONTOURING and how it can be used to TRANSFORM THE FACIAL FEATURES of your subjects.
When you watch this makeup transformation, I want you to keep in mind that this is EXTREME HIGHLIGHTING AND CONTOURING and that in no way do I suggest anyone copy this makeup on themselves or a client and put a wig on expecting it to look just like a woman or drag queen.
The techniques I want to teach you here are THE BASICS OF WHERE LIGHT AND DARK ARE APPLIED when transforming a man’s face into a woman’s to soften the male features and create cheekbones and a brow that normally doesn’t exist on a man’s face.
Think of it as a diagram in which the sections are CLEARLY MARKED and when using this for a drag makeup reference, where you see WHITE- you place a much lighter highlight than your normal skin color and where you see THE DARKEST BROWN CONTOUR - you place a much softer contour color that will deepen your natural skin tone but not carve it out as extremely as I did on my model in this video.
Open your mind to the possibilities of makeup and let me show you how this example of EXTREME HIGHLIGHTING AND CONTOURING can be utilized in so many different areas of your career as young makeup artists.
