Hi Everyone! Happy St Patrick's Day :D
Hope you all are well :) *Don't forget to watch in 1080p*
Tutorials may be a little inconsistent over the next couple of months because I'm coming to the end of my final year in college. The good news though is come June I'll be able to properly dedicate my time to YouTube which I have never had the opportunity to do before and I'm really excited about that :D ....3 months left EEEK!
Todays video as you can probably guess from the title is another beginners makeup look. In this tutorial I am showing you how to create the classic black smokey eye....using very little black actually! That is why I think this tutorial is best suited for beginners, black is a very hard colour to blend out but if you apply the shadows like I did in the tutorial, you won't need to blend out the black eyeshadow :)
I plan to upload another black smokey eye that is a little more advanced, its one I wear on a night out without fail and I have had a lot of requests to do a tutorial on that look :)
I originally recorded this look using Nyx Jumbo Pencil in 'Black Bean' as a cream base for the darker shadows. However I find sometimes that can be hard to work with, especially if you are beginner. If the pencil is not blended out evenly, the eyeshadows that you place on top of it can apply quite patchy and if its not set properly it can crease.
I decided it would be easier to create this tutorial using only powder products on the eyes, aside from the primer of course!
Also the brown eyeshadow on my right eye looks a little lighter than my left eye. I think this was because I had one of my lights closer to me than the other so it slightly washed the colour out. I'm not sure what happened but I used the same brown eyeshadow on both eyes and they looked the same in person haha!
I'll stop yapping now in two minutes hahaha promise! Are there any looks you would like to see next? I have a review of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara coming up, along with a Cara Delevingne Spring Inspired look. But thats it for the moment :) I'd love to hear from you!
