Removal of gender and beauty norms. When a woman removes hair its seen as "adding beauty" but when a guy removes his hair its seen as just that, more utilitarian in a way. When a woman removes her make up she's seen as less beautiful or less womanly Where as a man isn't seen as to need makeup and is considered more feminine if he does. What I wanted to do was just to play on those ideas. After removing one with the other still intact what does that leave me as? Removal of hair, Makeup and gender.
