For the passed few years, my mom has been making soap at hom rather than purchasing laundry detergent at the store. There are several upsides to making it home; it's affordable to make, you can choose the scent, it's less harsh on clothing and great for those with sensitive skin or sense of smell.

Ingredients:
Washing soda
Borax
Bar soap (options listed in the video)
Essential oil (we like to use lavender)
Lot's of water
A container to put the mixture into
