*About SLSA
I feel like i'm going to get a few questions as to if this is safe to work with, etc. First i'd like to disclaim that I am NOT a professional, or a chemist, or anything like that haha. I did some research and from what I've found, it is STRONGLY recommended you work with this while using gloves and a mask to cover your mouth. To my understanding, SLSA is what makes the bubble bars bubble (it's also found in some shampoos) So I would say this is a project not so much for kids. Please use gloves when working with this, and also please wear a mask. When SLSA is in the air it will make you have a coughing fit. My experience is that this IS a safe project, but you really need to be wearing gloves and a mask to cover your mouth!
*Other Questions I'm anticipating*
- Will this stain my tub? Mine did not. It may leave a slight ring, but you should be able to wipe it off right after!
- "What gives it scent?" The essential oils are what give your bath products scents! I used one from target as featured in the video but you could honestly use whatever you want!
- "How long should I let these dry?" I would say at least 24 hours, maybe 48! I have heard freezing them will speed up the drying process but I haven't tried it myself!
- "Can I substitute.... x" There are definitely alternative recipes online, so I would suggest googling it and seeing if you can find substitutes for ingredients that aren't working for you!
*Recipe*
1 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/3 cup corn starch
1/3 cup cream of tarter
1 cup SLSA
1/3 cup Glycerin
Essential oil drops
Food coloring
Mask/ Gloves

Between the rest of the ingredients, the whole thing cost me a little over $35. Bath bombs are $12 each, I made 8, so it was definitely worth doing!
