That brush!
The star feature of this mascara is the brush. If you are not a fan of silicone brushes then you wouldn't care much for the mascara.
I like how the fibers are dual layered. There are long and short fibers which work great for giving you definition. However the fibers are not densely packed to deliver enough volume for me.
Hardest Mascara To Remove
This mascara is a real pain. First of all it just gets clumpy with the traditional jiggle back and forth. This normally doesn't bother me because it needs a simple comb thru.
The main problem is the removal. Wipes don't do the job. The mascara will stay and eventually mold your lash into a giant cartoony mess. See the picture.
I find the best removal is with Urban Decay Meltdown. I tried Neutrogina eye makeup remover but it still left me stuck together. If you don't have Meltdown then use an oil based remover or pure Vitamin E oil. This stuff is that hardcore and you have to soak it a bit before you rub.
If you can deal with this annoying removal then go ahead and try it. It's just too much of a hassle for me.
Okay but not great
The formula of this mascara is very wet which would be fine if it had a different brush. The brush has a weird little bendable joint which I don't care much for. It doesn't allow you to jiggle the brush back and forth to build up the volume. I also don't care much for how pointed the brush is. At the point of the brush the mascara builds up and you have to brush excess off.
I feel like if the brush point wasn't so drastic and if it were a bit more plush then it would apply much better.
Vegan yet still functional!
I like the brushes fibers which aren't too stiff but not too too soft. I often find some vegan brushes are just too soft and don't grab product. I like the design of this brush and the handle feels strong. The only problem with this brush, which also happens to be the reason I wouldn't use it professionally, is that it is so lightly colored. I used it with some OCC lip tar in RX and Limecrime's No She Didn't; now my brush is stained. I tried to wash the blue out with Ajax liquid dishwashing soap, MAC brush cleaner, jojoba oil, and Philosophy's Purity facial cleanser with no result. Now my cute little brush is blue forever and it makes me sad.
Vegan Friendly
This is a great all over eye brush. The fibers aren't so harsh that they prick at your delicate lids and they aren't so soft that they don't grab product. The handle feels sturdy in my hand too. I like it as a personal eyeshadow brush.
Best and most affordable concealer ever!
I have this concealer in my pro kit and I use it on myself. I really like using it under the eyes and for brows. It goes on so creamy and moist which is great for the under eye area. It won't dry you out even if you set it with powder. Now professionally someone may complain that it is in a jar and not a tube but that really doesn't make a difference to me. I scoop a bit out, put it on my tray, and go to work.
Make whatever you want!
This is my favorite mixing medium. I use it professionally and personally. I have used it to make blood, paint body designs, mix eyeliner, revitalize a dry product, and I once used it to make colored mascara. Duraline is so affordable and so useful that everyone should have a bottle. I more recently used it at a comic book convention to make a "Forgotten Doll" look. I did a test run on myself and it came out wonderful.
